Hello there. So nice of you to take the time to read my humble posting. It seems I'm the first to make an entry to this little page, so I'm not sure what to write. We didn't do all that much today. Adam came up to Ithaca from Maryland this evening, arriving shortly after 10pm. Before he arrived, I started mixing Rain, but we've decided to retrack the bass parts on that so it was really sort of an unproductive afternoon. Anyway, after Adam arrived, we (Adam, Mike, and myself) took our time and discussed our agenda for the week, that is, what we would like to get accomplished. We've pretty much accepted the notion that the EP will not be finished this week, but will instead finish it in mid-January the week before Adam starts classes at IC again. While it's not the ideal timeframe, I'm glad we have set out a reasonable schedule for ourselves and I think we'll be able to accomplish our goals. So, we're going to start tracking tomorrow morning with a full head of steam (and a little sleep too) and it will be a lot of fun I'm sure. Our goal is to release a six-song EP in February including the titles Rain, Driving Away, Coming Home, Sincerely Me, Tongue Tied, and Welcome In. Below you'll find some pictures I took over the course of today, including some super stealth ones of Adam passed out on the couch. Enjoy!

goodnight,
josh

Hey hey - here i am. After several months of school, I was able to drive home on Saturday to Maryland. I got about 24 hours there to, after 365 days of being 19, celebrate my 20th birthday. It was quite a whirlwind of activity and I hardly got to digest much of the situation before i hopped back in the car up to Ithaca on Monday morning. You can see from Josh's post above what happened after I arrived last night; you can also view the photographs he took...while I was sleeping. Creepy.

Soooo fastforward through my slumber to 8:45 AM when I was startled awake by a one Josh Sularski. I crashed on his futon, which was quite comfortable despite the freezing cold of his apartment. After setting up and buying some batteries and food we started tracking. I spent most of the day in an isolation booth playing guitar for Welcome In, Sincerely, Me, and Tongue Tied. The day was, for the most part, successful and we're looking forward to getting Josh on piano on the morrow as well as having Mikey play some guitar.

I did have some amazing breaks from the sound booth, however, when our good friend Cait stopped by and brought us some cookies. I also unwound by lying on the floor and pretending to be a shrimp, a state from which i was rudely awakened by Joshua relentlessly kicking me in my place. I don't mean to give anyone the impression that we're an immature band, though; obviously Josh doesn't understand the importance of allowing people to express themselves by impersonating sea crustaceans.

At approximately 7:30 PM we were kicked out of the studio. We're tracking the EP at IC, which closes at 7. After several clandestine attempts to sneak back into the building, including one just a few minutes ago, we decided to call it a night. Michael went home and Josh and I retired to his apartment, which, we were excited to find had a new thermostat installed. However, no silver lining comes without it's little grey cloud: we also found a gigantic gaping hole in Josh's ceiling. I'm wicked tired so I'll have to post all of the pictures of today's fun in the morning - but check back.

I'm about to fall asleep. Josh is playing video games.

Feel free to write me/us or post on the message board at any time - we'll be checking both regularly!

Hope you're all well - AD

It’s 3 in the morning and Josh and I are watching the Howard Stern show before we call it a night. It’s spring break for me at IC, and I’m staying in Ithaca for the week to work on our EP. Already the week’s been pretty productive. On Saturday night Josh played bass for “Rain” and a new tune I finished writing last week called “Louise.” Afterwards he spent a long time editing the “Louise” takes and it sounds pretty fantastic – we can’t wait to share it with you guys. While Josh was hard at work – I was busy setting up and building our new online music accounts at myspace and purevolume. The online accounts are pretty cool – and there’s a new track from Seasons available to listen to on each. The myspace account is www.myspace.com/adamday and similarly, the purevolume account can be accessed at www.purevolume.com/adamday. You should definitely check them both out and tell your friends to have a listen as well.

After work on Saturday night, Josh and I experienced one of the strangest nights we both agree we’ve ever had. I can’t really even begin to describe how weird it was to you guys – but let’s just say it involved a diner, a claw machine, bad milkshakes, and mother and father death. Then we went to Wegman’s, the local grocery store, to pick up some necessary supplies for the week and headed back to Josh’s apartment. I’m not really one for video games – but when we got back to Josh’s, I started playing the game “Fable” on X-Box…and I must say, I’m temporarily hooked. Before falling asleep, I read a little bit of “Fairy Tales,” by e.e. cummings, my favorite poet. The book was a Christmas present from a great friend of mine this year – and I’m excited to get a chance to read it this week…already the first story was really interesting and beautiful.

I slept most of the day on Sunday and was able to help Josh work on more bass stuff that evening. I also spent a lot more time working on the myspace account. Late night we went out to get some bubble tea, but sadly found the store closed. We settled for some college town bagel goodness and then headed back to the studio to do some more work. It was a less eventful night without the diner, though. I watched “Lost in Translation” last night and found it to be one of my favorite movies – I’m certainly going to buy it sometime soon.

Today I worked on Myspace through the day and did some other stuff looking into places to play this fall. We took the night off – so I’ve had some time to update the website and write emails and such! I plan on updating the studio journal almost every day this week – and including some pictures from our daily mischief…so stay tuned.

That’s all for tonight I think –
Hope everyone’s well

I'm sitting in the office at Pyramid Sound in Ithaca, NY looking outside
to a very gray but warmer-than-usual day. Yesterday was wicked cold and it hurt just to walk anywhere.

It's really quiet right now - all I can hear is the fan from some piece of
machinery in the other room and the occasional slip of conversation that
is loud enough to carry itself through the halls and back into this room.
I love quiet moments like this - it reminds me of walking outside when
it's snowing; it always seems so quiet.

Yesterday was a fairly productive day. Josh came up to Ithaca College and retracked piano for "Rain," and "Driving Away (From Places You Love)," for the EP. Tonight we're going to go back and put some piano down on "Welcome In" and "Louise." Josh is really fun to watch when he's playing piano - it's nice to have him back on his home instrument rather than playing bass. Below you can find some pictures I took of the session and then also a picture of what happened afterwards when Josh got into a box of Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls. For some reason he just loves laying in a pile of them...he didn't even eat one! I'm always like "Josh...why do you love laying in the Swiss Cake, man?" and he just comes right back and he says "pshhh, grow up son!" I don't really know what that means - but I guess Josh's got it figured out.

After the session yesterday, I drove to Mikey's home studio and dropped
off some music for him to listen and play to - I think he's going to be
busy playing guitars on "Welcome In" soon. Things with the EP are coming along pretty smoothly and soon we'll hopefully have some clips up online. I think we're also going to start on a new design for the website - we have a lot of trouble being hip, seeing as we're all huge nerds...but we're going to try to make it pretty cool this time around.

That's all I can think to write right now - i'm listening to the preview
site for Brad Wolfe's new CD - and it sounds pretty cool. Another couple
of tunes I've been into lately include "The Gulf War Song," by Moxy
Fruvous, and most anything from Jump, Little Children, who I've fallen in
love with again.

At any rate - that's it for now
hope you're all well

PS - the pictures will be here soon...I promise

Back at the dorm room after a strenuous evening of practice. I'm about to go to bed but wanted to let everyone know about what we've been up to. The other night, Mikey came late in the evening and played guitar for "Louise" and then we went to a diner to cap our week of work. I won at the claw machine...so I was pretty happy.

I've a couple of new songs rolling around in my head that I can't wait to finish. I was working on them a bit today and they seem like they're going to shape up nicely if they ever finish writing themselves.

We have more practice tomorrow and then the Tsunami relief benefit show on thursday. It's going to be a really great show because we're sharing the stage with a lot of really fun local acts. Then we're headed to my home on Saturday in Maryland. I'm really excited to go home and see family and friends.

Tonight Josh tried to send me some of the pictures we took last week but they didn't come through too well - I promise I'll post them this week - but for now i'm exhausted and I still have some work to do. Hope everyone's well
